Things to do in Homer Alaska

Homer, Alaska is a small coastal town located at the tip of the Kenai Peninsula, (at ‘the end of the road’). It is also known as the ‘Halibut Fishing Capital of the World.’ A focal point is the Homer Spit, 4.5 miles of land jutting out into Kachemak Bay. The Spit is the remains of an ancient glacial moraine, constantly reshaped by ocean currents. It’s a gathering place for everyone from campers to fishermen to shoppers to artists. It’s a place where you can go fishing, eat at a restaurant with a view, take a water taxi across the bay, go kayaking, or make your home base for other adventures.
